Sooke Salmon Enhancement Society meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month (except June & July) at the Juan de Fuca Salmon Restoration Society’s Interpretative Centre at 2895 Sooke River Road, which is farther along the driveway past the hatchery. Members receive hatchery news, information, and reminders of meetings by email.
We are always happy to have new volunteers. Some activities that members take part in are:
- Collecting both Chinook and Coho brood stock - September to October
- Shocking eggs - September to December
- Feeding fry at hatchery - January to June
- Work parties throughout the year
- General hatchery duties & maintenance
